Get your grocery shop right

Ever walked into your local shop planning to buy only one thing, just to come out with five other items you don’t actually need? Grocery shopping and the endless options available can be daunting – but we’re here to help!

Planning ahead

The grocery shopping process starts before you have even left your house. Start with planning healthy meals for the week, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and healthy snacks, you can then assemble a shopping list from this. It may seem obvious but always check your fridge and pantry to see what you actually need.

If you are doing the FatBlaster 6-week program then we have already done all the hard work for you, simply print your weekly shopping list and you are ready to shop!

Buy (selectively) in bulk.

Retailers will often have specials – sometimes even half price. When it comes to non-perishable foods that you know are some of your staples (think: tuna, oats etc.) it makes sense to stock up on these when they are on special.

Delivery & Pick Up

Don’t have time for shopping? Just jump online and order it there. Most retailers charge for delivery put pickup is free.

Frozen Fruit & Veg

Many shoppers think the frozen section is full of processed and unhealthy foods. However, it’s a good idea to buy frozen fruit and veg so you always have a healthy option ready to go that won’t wilt!

Do not shop when you are hungry

A successful, healthy grocery shop does involve some willpower on your part. The ultimate rule: don’t shop when you’re feeling hungry. Before you know it, you’ll end up with multiple items in your basket that aren’t on your list, that aren’t healthy and you don’t need.

Try implementing some of these tips next time you shop. You’ll be surprised at how much time you can save with just a little planning. Happy shopping!
